2 PERSON WATERPROOF TENTS

Wenzel Alpine 8.5 X 8-Feet Dome Tent Review

The Wenzel Alpine 8.5 X 8-Feet Dome Tent is a waterproof tent for three people. What makes it popular amongst campers is its great value for its price. It is a perfect tent for backup, or an extra tent if you want to take your friends camping.

It is a five-sided tent. It is extremely easy to set up. It comes with three poles and an extra waterproof layer. You just slip in the three poles, put the extra layer on top, and you are ready to go. It should take no more than five to ten minutes.

It has two mash windows, and a large door. I have found this to be a huge plus. The tent will remain relatively cool even in hot, sunny weather, as the air can travel in it freely. This feature combined with the extra waterproof layer makes the Wenzel Alpine 8.5 X 8-Feet Dome a tent for all seasons.

It is a lightweight tent. You can carry it around in a small backpack, which comes in handy when hiking, cycling or rock climbing. It's small weight makes it a great auxiliary tent. You can carry it around with another small tent, or carrying two Wenzel Alpines is manageable as well.

However, it's light weight is a minus. It is made of thin materials. Some reviews suggest that you have to be cautious when using the zippers, but I have not found this to be a problem. However, the sides are thin, and they might rip through extensive use.

I don!t recommend to use this tent as your main one if you are a regular hiker. However, it is very well priced for the value it offers. It is a excellent auxiliary, or back-up tent. It can be bought for a cut-price on Amazon.

Slumberjack 2 Person Trail Tent Review

The Slumberjack 2 Person Trail Tent is the one I would recommend for sleeping outside late autumn, or at the hills, where you may encounter heavy snow. This tent has an extra waterproof layer. Most tents crumble under heavy snow, but the Slumberjack 2 Person Trail tent's extra layer can whitstand heavy snow.

Even though it is marketed as a two person tent, it is a bit tiny for two hikers. Two adults will fit in, but there will not be enough place for the equipment of both hikers.

The placement of the door is unfortunate. It is one half of one of the sides. This design is uncomfortable when person is sleeping, while the other wants to get out of the tent without waking up the one sleeping at the door.

There are two side-pockets on the inside, which is great for storing a flashlight, if you need to visit a tree during the night.

Even though it would be comfortable for a single person, it weights around seven pounds, which makes it a bit heavy to carry around on your own.

For this reason, I would not recommend this for a single person for hiking during the summer. However, the strong extra layer makes it excellent for hiking in areas where you might encounter snow. It is a specialized tent, which can be bought on Amazon.
